Feedback on our rough-cut

Yesterday, we watched everyone's rough-cuts, and we had to give them feedback on it. We got our feedback, back, which is below.

Positives
  • Costume/nice set.
  • The setting works really well with the song.
  • Tension at start with girl in dress, at church/nice scenes and costume/spin
  • Nice gothic feel/good use of effects.
  • Nice use of location and variety of costume.
  • Great shots/good use of rule of 3rds/very good lip-sync and acting.
  • Good use of locations, especially like the greenhouse.
  • I like each location you have used/moving shots work well.
  • I like the contrast of the camera panning down the church, and then panning up the performer, but I think when you stop panning up, you should stop panning down aswell.
  • Going down on church then up on performer/using the eyes to change costume/loads of locations.
  • Church setting is good/transition between eyes is good.
  • Locations are lovely/costumes are good.
  • Costume/setting/lip-sync.
Areas for improvement
  • Some of the shots last too long.
  • A few clips in the first 10 seconds are too bright.
  • More cut-aways/close-ups.
  • Bland shots.
  • Spinning shot held too long/lip-sync out in one shot.
  • When singer spins around, it drags on a tiny bit.
  • Lip-sync is sometimes not correct/spinning part goes on for a bit too long.
  • Lip-syncing is a little out in some parts/spinning goes on for too long.
  • Cut the spinning short/add more cut-aways.
  • Spinning goes on too long/starting her at the end of the path, and not showing her walking down it/barn shots are a bit dark.
  • More lip-syncing is needed/use more church shots.
  • Too much spinning, but apart from that it's fine.
  • Add more than just spinning.
My response to this feedback, is that I agree that the spinning in our rough-cut does go on for too long. We will shorten this part. Also people have suggested adding more cut-aways and close-ups. We will have to discuss this, and maybe add more. We do have a lot of footage, and we didn't use all of it in our rough-cut, but we will be able to for our final cut of the video.
